Plastic pollution has now turned into a global concern with various governments and foundations attempting to spread awareness of the distressing issues it triggers. A special assembly was organized at LPS Global school, the School in Noida on 5 July 2022 for classes V-XII on the occasion of International Plastic Bag Free Day. Students along with their teachers participated enthusiastically to make it a success. It started with a special thought “Plastic pollution-free world is not a choice but a commitment to life – a commitment to the next generation.” Beautiful and creative posters and slogans made by students were displayed to make students aware of the topic. Teachers explained the importance of the Plastic Free Environment to the students. The purpose of the day was to increase public awareness of the major problems caused by plastic pollution and the grave threat that it poses to the natural environment, including both land and marine life. As plastic bags take between 100 and 500 years to degrade, they pollute the land when they are disposed of in landfills and endanger marine life if they are washed into the oceans. Therefore, it is essential to raise awareness about the negative effects of single-use plastic bags. Students along with teachers took an oath to discard the use of plastic to save Mother Earth.
